I have been looking for a restaurant with good Chinese food across many appetizers and entrees from the Maryland line to York. We had found a decent place, not a lot to choose from but 6 days ago they had a horrible health inspection, 25 violations the inspector using the term extreme filth. Worst part, bad inspection last year. We came across River House and took the drive. Not fancy but friendly and delicious food, nice portions. Highly recommend the River House is Craley

My boyfriend and I moved local to the area recently and decided to stop here to try it since it’s close to home and we’re definitely going to make this our spot! First of all, the crab Rangoons were amazing, finding a place that actually uses real crab meat instead of imitation is not easy to come by these days. YOU CAN taste the difference 100% and when I first bit into it; it was the first thing I noticed and I had immediately mentioned that to my boyfriend. I just went with the sweet and sour chicken and fried rice but that was still great and I love the fact they add bean sprouts to their fried rice! My boyfriend got the General Tso’s and that was amazing! The best we’ve had by far and we both agreed on that. Definitely would recommend checking it out!

Childhood favorite menu turned present day mainstay in my takeout rotation. Once upon a time, while growing up, I lived in a small town in rural Pennsylvania. In this town existed a restaurant called Empress Garden. It remained busy, steadily feeding busy families in the surrounding area, and providing its customers with the best takeout to be had in our corner of PA. My family grew especially fond of Empress Garden and became well known regulars, and cultivated a great relationship with the owners. My father even painted a mural on the side of the restaurant! One day, tragedy befell Littlestown, and Empress Garden closed its doors for good. Bereaved and riddled with grief, I did my best to move on - that is until social media became a cornerstone of modern society. One day, a message appeared in my father's Facebook inbox. It was our long lost friends from Empress Garden, informing us they'd opened a new restaurant an hour east in Wrightsville, PA! Naturally, I dropped what I was doing and made my way to River House. Service was fine, atmosphere eh,, food was the worst I've ever had. Crab rangoon was out of a box, I've bought them at the store before. Chicken sate same, I know the exact store where they buy them. Egg rolls all dough, chicken lo mein out of a box, fried rice had to be plastic or weeks old. And the milk shakes, old ice cream or made badly. I was super sad, alot of people like that place, me? NEVER AGAIN. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures.

Great family restaurant! Food was well prepared, hot, and flavorful. Lots of options and helpful service.
